<p>《左傳》曰：寧喜許納衛獻公，太叔文子曰：「今寧子視君不如弈棋；弈者舉棋弗定，不勝其偶，而況置君弗定乎？<small style="color:var(--color-destructive--visited,#996666)" about="#mwt4" typeof="mw:Transclusion"><span style="color:transparent;font-size:0px">〈</span>弈，圍棋也。<span style="color:transparent;font-size:0px">〉</span></small>九世之卿族，一舉而滅之，可哀也哉！」</p>

<p>《魏氏秦秋》曰：孔融被誅，二子棋而不起。左右曰：「爾父見報，不起何也？」二子曰：「安有巢毀而卵不破者乎？」</p>

<p>鄧粲《晉記》曰：阮籍母死，與人圍棋如故。對者求止，籍不肯，留決勝焉。《晉中興書》曰：王恬，字敬豫，與濟陽江霖俱善弈棋，為中興第一。</p>

<p>又曰：陶侃在荊州，見佐吏博弈戲具，投之於江，曰：「圍棋者，堯、舜以教愚子；博者，商紂所造。諸君并懷國器，何以為此？」</p>

<p>沈約《宋書》曰：羊玄保為黃門侍郎，善弈棋，棋品第三。太祖亦好，玄保數蒙引見。與太祖賭郡，戲勝，得補宣城太守。</p>

<p>《齊書》曰：能棋人琅琊王抗為第一品，吳郡褚思莊、會稽夏赤松第二品。赤思速，善於斗棋。宋文帝世，與羊玄保戲，因制局圖，還於帝前覆之。太祖使思莊與王抗官賭，自食時至日暮，一局始竟。上倦遣還省，至五更方決。抗睡於局後，思莊達曉不寐。世或以思莊品第致高，緣其用思深久，人不能對也。</p>

<p>又曰：武帝好圍棋，棋甚拙，去格七八道，物議共欺為第三品。與第一品王抗圍棋，依品賭戲，抗每饒借之，曰：「皇帝飛棋，臣抗不能斷。」帝終不覺，以為信然，好之愈篤。</p>

<p>又曰：武陵王曄，少年時，貧無棋局。乃破荻為片，縱橫以為棋局，指點行勢，遂至名品。</p>

<p>《燕書》曰：羅騰，字叔龍，工圍棋，究盡其妙，獨步當時。俄而右北平樂抄少攜出，與齊焉。</p>

<p>《後魏書》曰：甄琛舉秀才，入都積歲，頗以弈棋棄日，至乃通夜不止。有蒼頭者，常令秉燭，或時睡，即大加責杖，如此非一。奴後不勝楚痛，乃白琛曰：「郎君辭父母，仕官京師，若為讀書執燭，不敢暫非；乃以圍棋，日夜不息，豈是向京之意？而肆加杖罰，不亦非理乎？」琛惕然慚感，遂從許赤虎假書研習，聞見益優。</p>

<p>《陳書》曰：梁武帝詔校定棋品，到溉、朱異已下并集。陸瓊時年八歲，於客覆局，由是京師號曰神童。</p>
