<p>《唐書》曰：元和中，以尚書左丞呂膺檢校工部尚書，充東都留守。舊例，命留守必賜旗甲，與方鎮略同。及元膺受任，竟無所賜。朝論以東有寇虞時用元膺，尤不當削其儀制，以沮威望。諫官上疏曰：「華、汝、壽三州例賜戎械，居守之重固宜寵借。」上曰：「此數處幷不當與。」其後遂皆停。</p>

<p>《五代周史》曰：唐景思爲偏將。顯德初，河東劉崇帥衆來寇，世宗親總六師以禦之。及陣于高平，景思于世宗馬前距躍數四，且曰：「願賜臣堅甲一聯，以觀臣之效用。」世宗由是知其名。因以高平陣所得降軍數千人署爲效順指揮，命景思董之，使屯于淮上。三年春，世宗親征淮甸，景思繼有戰功。</p>
